How do we make sure the fare cap rule (MTA in NYC) is met successfully?

The fare cap rule can be met when the customer uses the same card to make the transactions (equivalent to 12 rides or $34 in fares within 7 days).
Physical and virtual cards have different card numbers therefore they would not count towards the same cap.
Customers can keep track of their progress toward the cap through their OMNY account.
