Write-Off transactions will be created automatically in a charge card account if the account is closed with a negative balance. This is similar to negative balance adjustments that occur in deposit accounts.
This occurs when there is a positive (not negative) balance on a credit account, however, the impact is the same. If the credit account is in a position where the end-user owes money (positive balance) and is closed, this Write Off adjustment will be created.
