BE04 Wire return code

The BE04 return code indicates a missing or invalid creditor (beneficiary) address. This means the wire transfer could not be processed due to incomplete or mismatched address information. To resolve this, the sender must confirm and correct the beneficiary address before reinitiating the transfer.

What You Need to Do

To avoid processing delays or returned wires:

  • Ensure the beneficiary address provided in your wire transfer exactly matches the address on file with the beneficiary's institution.
  • We strongly recommend verifying these details directly with the wire beneficiary before submitting the transfer.
